Real Time Settler

RTS – THE REAL TIME SETTLER

The Wasteland. Or more exactly, the Capital Wasteland. A cruel place, a sea of vermin, like a plague stricken the land. People aren’t like what they used to be. They are cruel, deceitful, evil. They prey on the weak in numbers, like a pack of wolves. Most of the time they are killed. Sometimes they are captured, sold, and worked to death. They call it the Wasteland because trying to make it what it was before, is a waste. Of time. Of materials. Of life.

In this storm of evil, only a few shelters remain as to hold against the armies of men, creatures, and worse. A settlement built from a plane. A settlement built in a ship. A tower, ruled by bigots, populated by bigots. A settlement built in a museum, populated by the last sane living dead. A settlement on the bank of the Potomac, populated by selfish warriors of iron, refusing to let the good peoples left into their bastion of hope. A crumbling wall against chaos. One that will soon fall.

Power corrupts. Absolutely power corrupts absolutely. The supposed president, no more than a scapegoat for the annihilation of all that is good. Corrupted, absolutely. Why, a mystery.

But then in this Wasteland, nothing is easy. Nothing. But slowly, this world could come out of its hole and rise as an example of mankind being good. But, alas nothing is how you want it to be. Except with RTS.

Real Time Settler is a modification for the game of Fallout 3 that lets you start your own village. Not in a place your things and ta-da! way, but in a way which requires active management, in real time and in first person.

It has never been done before. There is nothing like it. It is unparalleled when it comes to the skill of the incredibly complex scripting.

This lets you build your own village, wherever you want – provided its outdoors. First you start by building what is key to any good settlement – a post box. After that, you build a store house, then a shelter for your villagers. Then, whatever you want – why not a crow’s nest, to see the enemies from? Or an academy, to research science from pre-war books? How about a hospital? A trading post? A wall? A gate? A barracks? A farm? Or how about a nice simple outhouse.....Or a windmill, to generate power, or a waterwell, or a monument..... the possibilities are endless. Add these to the fact that you have toggle-able raider attacks...and then you have a job on your hands.

Many beggars will flock to your village, but you cannot take everyone. At the moment. Take which ones you want – the craftsmen, the builders, the farmers, he scavengers, or the soldiers. But who needs soldiers when you can construct automated turrets?

This mod is not one where you can just go off and ignore your village. It is ‘hardcore’. The first you try it, your villagers will probably riot. Practice makes perfect. It is free, so why not download it and see for yourself
